Thank You Fred and Peg Rooney

Fred and Peg Rooney have been great friends to Monica’s Kitchen. Their generosity has never failed when we needed extra help providing food for our friends and neighbors living with hunger. During the past year when caution and illness required that they remain homebound, Fred and Peg would often call to say that they had a load of canned goods or peanut butter and jelly in the trunk of their car waiting for us to pick it up and share with others. Thanks to them and so many others, no one has ever been turned away from Monica’s Kitchen.

South Boston lost a great neighbor when Fred passed away – and we lost a good friend and Good Samaritan.

We will, of course remember Fred in our prayers and pray Peg and their extraordinary family are consoled by the peace that now welcomes Fred home.

The greatest tribute we can offer Fred is following the example that he and Peg have offered and be light in the darkness for those searching for hope.
